Patrick J. Kennedy Jr., Chairman

Mr. Kennedy has been a practicing banking lawyer for 31 years and has advised hundreds of CEO’s and Boards of Directors on a wide variety of business, core banking, development, strategic, regulatory and legal matters during this period of time. Having a deep understanding and appreciation for the uniqueness and power of a community banking organization,  he  formed TransPecos Financial Corp. which purchased the $14MM Total Asset Iraan State Bank in March 1998. The following year the Company purchased Security State Bank of Pecos, a $64MM organization located in Pecos, Texas.

Mr. Kennedy serves on the Board of Directors of The Independent Bankers of Texas where he provides special guidance on numerous legislative and special bank related initiatives, including Subchapter S, regulatory and capital initiatives.

He founded and continues to serve as President of the SubChapter S Bank Association, an educational and advocacy group developed to serve the banking industry’s needs in this unique environment, The organization has provided guidance to the US Treasury Department, the American Bankers Association, the Independent Bankers Association and numerous other constituencies on key matters affecting subchapter banks, as new government initiatives such as TARP and Deposit Insurance Premium analysis present novel structural challenges.

Mr. Hennig is a certified Strategic Human Resources Professional (by the Society for Human Resource Management) and became involved in the banking industry as the Chief Organizational Development Officer for TransPecos Banks in December of 2008.  Prior to his time in the banking industry, he had been involved in human resources development for over 16 years, developing organizations, teams, and individuals.   With this experience he brings and a proven track record developing executive leadership programs, performance improvement, communication, and engagement activities in organizations recognized as Great Places to Work with above average returns.

Mr. Hennig has developed training programs, salary & wage administration guidelines, bank wide incentive plans, performance management process, innovative benefits design, and wellness programming.

His focus over the past 7 years has been working closely with Executive Leaders and teams to ensure overall organizational design, performance improvement, development, and selection efforts are clearly linked and contributing to overall bank goals and objectives.
